    Pinewood Derby Committee Meeting

    Posted on Jan 12 2023 - 12:28pm

    Topic: Pinewood Derby Committee
Time: Jan 25, 2023 08:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
    Join Zoom Meeting

Pinewood Derby is one of the most fun and exciting events of the scouting program. Please consider joining if you think you can contribute to any of these needs:

    • Workshop event – we need to organize a date/location to offer a workshop for the scouts. We will need parents with tools and skills to help scouts execute their ideas.
    • Computer software operation – we need a couple people proficient on how to load data into the software and conduct the races. This will require us to practice using the software ahead of time
    • Track setup / Testing – if you have any prior experience setting up the track we would really appreciate your help
    • Activities – things to keep the kids busy when they aren’t racing. Last year we did driver license photos, which the kids loved. Any other ideas are welcomed
    • Food – we either need someone to coordinate the ordering of food from a vendor, or possibly leading a team to cook hamburgers/dogs at the event.
    • DJ/MC for the event – we have to check with Randy, but the person we used in the past may not be available. It will be nice to have music in between races
    • Check in station volunteers – we need 3-4 people to help inspect/weigh the cars and organize the check in line
